Are you a first time pawrent struggling to look after your furry friend’s health? Or are you worried about your long term animal companion?
Whatever it is, I am here to help. I’ve been healing animals across the world for over ten years at this stage.
And what my experience has taught me is no matter how bad things are, healing is always possible for traumatised, sick and anxious animals. Like us humans, some will need more time. But, with faith and commitment we can get there together.
In this blog, I will discuss the incredible impact of animal self-selection and why I believe it can greatly benefit your furry friend.
Animal Self-Selection
Both cats and dogs have an enhanced sense of smell compared to humans. So when we offer them aromatic botanicals such as essential oils, hydrosols and herbs they use this finely honed ability to sniff out the ones they know they need.
They might choose to inhale, lick or have the remedy applied topically. And in doing so they begin to bring themselves back into balance mentally, emotionally and physically.
What this means is if you offer a dog the choice of say three different diluted essential oils, he will only smell and lick the one he knows he needs, ignoring the other two.
But it doesn’t stop there, because over the years the animals have taught me how they can also self-select vibrational medicines like flower essences and homoeopathy which have no differentiation between their individual smells.
So they are solely tuning into their healing properties. This is how incredible they are!
How Does Animal Self-Selection Work?
I work remotely with dogs and cats through their photos. I start with my pendulum and ask the animal to basically ‘move’ it and show me what meridians in their body are out of balance.
Meridians are the energy pathways into each organ. They can become blocked, stagnated or even over stimulated. This causes imbalances mentally, emotionally and physically.
The reality is your fluffs are so in tune with their bodies, they know which meridians need to be rebalanced. Once they have shown me that, they ‘move’ the pendulum over my list of botanicals telling me which ones they need to rebalance them. It truly is amazing!
After this, I post the botanicals off to you and them. The final test comes when the animal has access to them and starts to interact with them in a specific way. I work with you by teaching you how to read what they are doing when they are subtly self medicating with the botanicals, and when they’ve had enough.
This work heals from the root cause, is totally natural and the dogs and cats love it! It becomes undeniable that they are healing themselves. This in turn will instantly reduce your stress levels, as you know in your heart help has finally arrived.
There can be a variety of reasons why animals seek out plants and botanicals to self select with. Here are just a few:
Physical reasons
- Pain
- Arthritis
- Skin problems
- Digestive issues
- Allergies
- Urinary problems
- Epilepsy
- Low immune system
Behavioural or emotional reasons
- Separation Anxiety
- Trauma
- Depression
- Grief (loss of another animal companion or guardian)
- Fear (some examples might be fireworks or a visit to the vet)
- Rescue animals
- Animals that are mainly kept indoors
- Reactivity
This phenomenon of self-medication may be something you’ve already seen them do but not recognised it. For example they can be doing it in your back garden already when they are eating grass, taking time to choose just the right type. Grass can help them rid themselves of parasites, ease digestive upsets or Spring grass is packed with yummy nutrients.
They might lick, eat or roll around in dirt. All of the natural world inherently knows the benefits of clay. When ingested it works as a detoxer for their digestive system. Cleansing them and also healing them as it travels through. It also works beautifully on ulcers which many animals have, especially horses.
They might roll around on aromatic plants that give off their healing essential oils just the way cats do when they stumble upon an irresistible catnip plant. And you might see them eating wild plants like yarrow which heals open wounds and eases the pain of stiff joints.
